"In Charity and Love"
You are invited to our spring concerts entitled "In Charity and Love,” a choral experience touching on the great love of our God, and our ability to show others love because Christ first loved us. This concert centers around the Latin text “Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est” (Where charity and love prevail,God is there), an ancient text, which conveys this extraordinary message.
The program features the quintessential setting of "Ubi Caritas" by Maurice Duruflé, as well as the well-loved modern setting by Ola Gjeilo. Other highlights include "My Jesus" by J.S. Bach, "Alleluia" by Randall Thompson, a new arrangement of "God Be with You 'Til We Meet Again" for choir and electric guitar by Kyle Pederson, and a mass setting based on the Ubi Caritas chant tune by Bob Hurd.
Please join the Lutheran Chorale of Milwaukee, under the artistic direction of Levi Nagel, for an afternoon of singing the love of God! A freewill offering will be taken to support the ongoing ministry of the Chorale, or you may donate anytime online here.

"O Great Mystery"
An annual favorite, the Prelude to Christmas concert is a wonderful way to kick off the Christmas concert season! This year's theme is "O Great Mystery,” focusing on the perplexing message that the King of Glory comes as a helpless baby to bring salvation. This concert will feature three settings of “O Magnum Mysterium” (Tomás Luis de Victoria, Francis Poulenc, Morten Lauridsen), an ancient text, which conveys this extraordinary message.

Other highlights will include several European Christmas carols such as “Ding! Dong! Merrily on High” and “God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen,” a rhythmic rendition of “Comfort, Comfort All My People” with organ and conga and audience participation, a new a cappella setting of “The Holly and the Ivy” in the style of Carl Orff, two jazzy carol settings, and a brand new setting of “Away in a Manger” using an alternate text written by Phil Wickham (“Forever Amen”).

Please join us for an afternoon of Advent and Christmas joy! A freewill offering will be taken to support the ongoing ministry of the Chorale.
